Raisin stuck up toddlers nose

My 2 year old has just stuck a raisin up one of her nostrils.

It is quite high up.
We have tried getting her to blow nose, try and get her to sneeze, try and shoot water up the other nostril etc.

Any ideas??

Google “mothers kiss” we tried to do it to dd when she had shoved peas up sheet nose.

Google it to confirm but I think if you hold the other side closed and then blow into their mouth hard it can dislodge it. Worked on one of my boys years ago.

Ds did the exact same thing! Minor Injuries (if you have one) or A&E will have it out in a jiffy.

Also we ended up in a&e because the peas wouldn’t come out. Dd bit the dr. She was 2. It was her birthday.

Dr decided that peas are organic material and would work themselves out. They weren’t affecting her breathing or anything. In a day or two she sneezed them out.

If your kid is reasonable and not scared like dd was

If not 111. Ds1 did this with a pea. A relative who is a doctor said you need to get it checked as could obstruct airway. She said if it was an ear she wouldnt worry much for a few days. Kids!!!

Try the mother’s kiss before heading for medical help as it’s the first thing they’ll get you to do.

DC did this with something small and round.

Spent ages at home with my finger pressing the clear nostril getting them to blow our of the other nostril in an attempt to free it.

Drs receptionist said to come down and nurse would try to remove it so we sat in the waiting room, still trying to get him to blow it out, whilst waiting. The nurse then arrived and said they couldn’t even attempt removal and to go to A&E when -thankfully-DC gave one last blow and it flew out.

If you don’t think you could reach it with a pair of tweezers it will have to be a 111 to see if they need to book you an appointment to remove or A&E.

Good luck 🤞🏻

Definitely try the mothers kiss my daughters have put more stuff than you'd believe up their noses and this always gets it out. Close the unblocked nostril with your finger or thumb and blow into their mouth and it'll come flying out

sarahc336 · 27/01/2022 17:42

Probably an a&e job as if you try poking up to ere yourself you can just poke it up higher. Good luck op xx

Thanks everyone.

We tried everything and it wouldn't come out 🙈. Took her to A&E and they had it out within about 5 seconds!! It was a massive raisin as well. No idea how she got that up there!!
