Almost 7 month old formula consumption

Hello. My almost 7 month old baby is very established with weaning having started at 4 months old. He has 3 meals a day and the odd melty stick of biscotti for a "snack". I'm just curious to see how much formula milk other babies his age age drinking. He currently only has 2 bottles a day of 6oz and a 7oz bottle before bedtime. I always offer 7oz for the first too bottles also but he only ever now drinks 6oz. Is this enough milk? I can't seem to find any other time to fit in another bottle in his schedule and he be hungry for it.

8am wake up and breakfast
9.30 6oz bottle
12.00 lunch
2.30 6oz bottle
5.30 dinner
7 - 6oz bottle

He isn't my first child and I can't remember what my daughter was having at his age but just want to check that he is having enough milk. He's not underweight and he is thriving.

Many thanks

At that age about 20oz /600mls is recommended. You can include milk in cereal and dairy products in that total too

So he’s having 3 bottles of 6oz = 18oz? If so this is perfect. I did a weaning course with a paediatric dietician who advised the minimum they need is 16oz with the max being 20oz once they’re eating well

Youngest is 6 months and well established onto weaning due to having started early due to milk refusal. She’s actually increased her milk consumption open weaning, and we normally have:

6am: Offer milk, 1-2oz taken
7.30am: Breakfast
9/10am: Offer milk, 2-3oz taken
12pm: Lunch
2pm: Offer milk, 2-3oz taken
4pm: Dinner
6pm: 6oz bottle, normally takes 4oz

She’s under medical supervision due to early faltering growth, and apparently this amount is ok so long as we add formula to her food too. With a bottle or two overnight she normally manages about 12-16oz in 24 hours, so I’d say your amount is good.

Also if they are taking less than 500mls of formula they should be given a supplement of vitamins A,C and D until age 5.
