Hello looking for some reassurance my 7 year old has been urgent referred to dermatology on Monday & ive been non stop panicking since. She has a mole on her back that has grew maybe 3 times the size. I will try add some photos too. I’ve been phoning up each day to see if they have the referral yet & they keep saying no. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to receive the referral?

You would be better off phoning the GP and asking their secretary to confirm the referral has been sent. There is usually a phone option ‘to speak to the medical secretary about a referral, press X’ instead of pressing whatever your usual option for reception or appointments is.

How long it takes to be received will depend on when it was sent and by what method. Once it is received it then has to be filed under DD’s record and await being read by the dermatologist and an appointment made.

I hope you hear soon and don’t have too long to wait Flowers
