3 year old potty training....briefs or trunks????

The title says it all. I am about to begin potty training my little one and I am a little at loss about what will replace his nappies!

No idea of pros and cons of each choice. Any suggestions?

Briefs with elastic round the leg holes, poo just falls out of the legs of trunks when they have an accident! Learnt that the hard way...

It really doesnt matter at all what style of pants you use. I think brief style pants are cheaper

Pants to keep the poo accidents in.

Thats grim! We have DS age 3 and I'm looking at sewing him some pants. Might leave off for a while in that case!
