MioSmart for myopia control

My son had an eye check up recently at a local optician. The lady recommended using Hoya miosmart lenses fitted in Spectacles for him as he is 13 and his prescription may worsen, it is -6.25 currently. We all were glasses for short sightedness at all times.
MioSmart , I am told, is quite a new thing here in UK.We have been asking Moorfields consultant every time about myopia control but were told as he grows up his eyes will change till a point of time and the prescription will stabilise somewhere close to us. I were -7 glasses, my DH -5.50, DD -6.
I wish I had gone to a local optician earlier. Is it too late for myDS to have any form of Myopia control?
I have been trying to get some inputs about HOYA MioSmart from users/parents but there is not much on internet in terms of reviews. All I have is a leaflet given by the optician plus a few short video clips on YouTube.
Can anyone share their child's experience using HOYA MioSmart or any other form of Myopia control?I will really appreciate any information shared as I am feeling very very worried about DS's eyes. His school gives all the homework on laptop and although he takes frequent breaks, I am afraid he has to spend too much time in front of the screen...I am really worried.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Looking at his parents prescription and age unlikely to progress more anyway. I'd avoid
