Reasonable chores for these ages

What are reasonable expectations of chores for a 10 and 5 and a half year old?

For 10 year old maybe putting laundry in the machine, emptying or filling dish washer, or hoovering

5 year old : help set the table

Tidy up after themselves.
Generally help out.

My 5 year old brings me things e.g a nappy for the baby etc. She absolutely can't tody her room though. She pegs out socks and underwear on the octopus hanger thing, she repleneshishes loo rolls in the bathroom, she sets the table.

For 5 year old I'd been thinking along the lines of helping set the table, putting away own toys, taking own plate through to kitchen from table after dinner and breakfast.

It's more the 10 year old that I wasn't sure how much would be reasonable or unreasonable. Right now they just set the table sometimes but I think they should also be asked to load or unload the dishwasher and put away their own clothes if I leave them folded in his room for him after washing.

I also thought both could be making their own beds in the morning, with me or DH helping 5 year old.

My 10 year old empties the dishwasher, sets the table, puts his washing away and tidies his bedroom. The 8 year old does the same.

I'm trying to get them to do the table and dishwasher without prompting but generally failing at that

My 108yos manage the things you mention. They also like hoovering.

My 5 year old-

• dusts all surfaces and skirting boards
• puts her plates, cutlery etc in to the dishwasher or sink
• tidies her room
• tidies her toys
• waters the indoor plants
• puts her clothes away in drawers
