Baby Socks — Would You Buy Socks Designed To Stay On?

I'm looking into whether there is a market for baby socks that stay on babies & infants. Please could you help me by giving your view on whether you would purchase socks that are specifically designed to stay on a child's feet.

  1. Is this a problem that you believe requires solving?

  2. Would you purchase a product that keeps socks on your baby's feet?

Thank you

I found it a problem, I bought SockOns to solve it. Lots and lots of my friends used the same product!

My dd had some things that went on over her socks, I think they may have been called 'sock ons' or similar. They were good, but she enjoyed pulling her socks of as she grew a bit so I left them off so as not to ruin her fun. Not sure if there's a market, but the socks do come off easily at that age so maybe.

Yes there's already sock ons. Which do work.
So quite happy with those already

I understand there are 'Sock Ons'. I was wondering if people would be more willing to try socks that don't need augmented with the elasticated bands of the Sock Ons.

Thank you for your replies so far. It's good to know that people have already tried to solve this issue themselves.

Yes and yes.

Sock ons are ok but I have lost loads of the buggers over the years.

HarveyChocolate · 19/01/2022 16:34

I have found Sock Ons to be a wee bit too tight and they are only able to be used for short periods and without shoes. I am wondering if there is a market out there for my socks that stay on my baby's feet.

It's a simple solution. I just wonder whether there are those of you that would try these as an alternative to Sock Ons.

Thanks again for the replies.

No I didn't find it a problem and probably wouldn't buy special socks.

I dressed my baby in sleepsuits with feet at lot and when he was older I never had issues with his socks coming off.

Doesn't mean there isn't a market for it though. And maybe some babies took their own socks off more than mine.

Caspianberg · 19/01/2022 16:38

No didn’t find it a problem. Mainly sleepsuits with feet when tiny, but he def had socks on at a few months when hot and just in vest. We mainly bought the baby socks form h and m, they are cheap and stay on

Lockdownmummy · 19/01/2022 17:34

I don't like the look of sock ons (very superficially I know, but just one of those things!) so have brought stay on socks in the past. Little Grippers which were great but think they have gone out of business and Little Sock Co which are lovely but expensive.

But I do think it's only a problem for a short period of time - once they are wearing more proper clothes rather than baby gros until they are cruising/waking so not sure how big the market really is.

LakeShoreD · 19/01/2022 17:40

Maybe I’m in the minority but 2 kids and I’ve never really had this issue! I buy socks from anywhere and they’ve never pulled them off. I always look for ones with grippers though.

Soubriquet · 19/01/2022 17:42

I never bothered with socks in the end. They either wore tights, onesies or went bare foot in the warm

Footnote · 19/01/2022 17:44

I wouldn’t have bought them. I assume there’s a reason they want to take them off so I let them get on with it. Lost a few pairs but not enough to make buying special socks worth it.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 19/01/2022 17:46

Never had an issue but then mine were in (footed) sleepsuits til they were 6mo and then after that weren't fussed on socks.

Flocon · 19/01/2022 17:46

I bought some from the little sock company. They are great. Hate sock ons.

firstimemamma · 19/01/2022 18:04

No, my baby lived in sleepsuits so it was never an issue.

Flocon · 19/01/2022 18:05

Only bothered with them from about 6 months onwards

Motherdare · 19/01/2022 18:08

Sleepsuits forever here too. After that I was never particularly bothered by the sock removing stage - babies just like pulling them off and don’t seem to suffer any adverse effects. I think it would be frustrating to be unable to remove your socks…

Flocon · 19/01/2022 18:09

Tights are good too as harder to pull off
