Baby never stops screaming or whining

Hi I wanted to ask advice about my almost 1 year old. He screams or whines the entire day, he will stop briefly while being fed but other than that no matter what I do with him will scream at the top of his lungs or whine the entire waking day. Not parts of the day I mean a solid 11 hours of it. I’m losing my mind at this point. His twin does not do this. No baby I’ve ever worked with does this. I have a health visitor appointment I’ve begged for in 2 weeks but they did nothing before for other things I’m looking for a next step. Any advice gratefully received. There’s got to be some issue I’m missing here.

Did he crawl/bum shuffle and does he walk? My DS was utterly miserable circa 1 year old. Had always been ‘high needs’ and highly stung, but fussed and cried pretty solidly from 10-15 ish months. I was broken by it. He never crawled (no idea why) and was literally static until he finally walked about 15 months. His speech progressed rapidly and at 20 months he’s now a different child. Just so content and joyous. Do you think this could be it - complete frustration and hatred at being a baby?

How's his sleep? I think 80% of whingy babies/toddlers i've met are over tired.

Agree that he could be overtired. Does he improve if you give him a dose of Calpol? Just wondering if he's in pain?

How's his speech too? My first was miserable until he could talk.

Ear infection? Tonsils/adenoids? Night terrors? Sleep apnea? Check him out for all of them.

My ds 9 months was hideous. Stopped bf during the night and when he slept through on the third night he transformed into an angel.
A bloody angel I tell you!
Lack of sleep wasn't just killing me!

Two of mine were miserable as sin. They weren't twins, so I had the luxury (!) of holding them All. Day. Long, which kept the screaming within normal limits but honestly, it was tough.

I'm sure for some babies there are medical reasons why they're so miserable, but mine did just grow out of it. They're both completely "normal", happy, giggly kids now if that makes you feel any better?! Being able to walk was a huge turning point for each of them.
