Don't you just aspire to be parents like them?

Please excuse me. Bluey appears to have become my life at the moment. If i was on mastermind tomorrow...pretty sure bluey would be my specialist subject.

Worrying.

Bring on S3!!!

We love Bluey over here. It has saved me from many a rainy day Grin

octoberfarm · 18/01/2022 18:25

(And on a more serious note, it's brilliant at reminding you how to be a good, kind, fun parents without making you feel bad for being knackered and a bit crap sometimes. We play SO many games that the kids learnt through Bluey and even as an adult the episodes make me smile ❤️)

Take a deep breath and activate my inner chilli. That's how I get through the day. I find myself quoting a lot of parenting tips from the show.

@octoberfarm it is bloomin brilliant. Exactly what you said, but also its genuinely my fav thing on TV at the moment haha.
Bingo is my fave, although Luckys dad also deserves a shout out for getting so involved without question.

DD asks for episodes by name which is an indication of how much we watch it. She'll come out with a phrase and it's lifted straight from Bluey Grin

Sleepytime is wonderful and Bandit and Chilli have the patience of saints (but I do love that sometimes they mess up or lose it over something too!)

Onlyinstillwaters · 18/01/2022 18:54

Omg I’m not ashamed to say that I sometimes watch my fave bluey episodes and cry like a baby….once my LO has gone to bed 😂 It is so wholesome and relatable. Particularly love camping and baby race episode and sleepy time 💔❤️

TreaclePlum · 18/01/2022 19:07

@Onlyinstillwaters YES BABY RACE made me sob! And I honestly don't cry at TV. Ever. My LO had only just started to crawl the first time I saw it and it really hit the heart.

Similarly with bingo at the end of that sleepy episode. Ahhh it's too good.

...recently found a website where someone was trying to suss out the floor plan of their house. Proper grown up fan base out there

Bluey is brilliant apart from dd2(6) has started saying she needs to go to the dunny Grin and has upped her cheeky quota a couple of notches by copying bluey and bingo!! 😂

DD(2yo) has learnt the phrase 'put that back this instant!' from the Kids episode where they're in the supermarket - she is now known as a cheeky toddler Grin

My 3 year old DS can often be found muttering 'oh biscuits' if something goes wrong. We love Bluey. He has the Bluey and Bingo plushies that granny bought him for Christmas and he'll often have them playing games from the show.

coffeepleeease · 18/01/2022 21:40

Bandit is bonkers, I love him !

afuckinggoat · 18/01/2022 21:41

"Grandad" is the episode that makes me cry. I watched it with my boy and my Dad and I am sure I saw my Dad tear up. He never cries.

In the episode, "The Show", Bingo and Bluey put on a play of Chilli and Bandit's early life. At one point, Bingo has a balloon up her top to signify Chilli's pregnancy. When the balloon pops, Bandit reaches over to hold Chilli's hand and Chilli looks like she's trying not to cry. I think they were telling us that she had actually had a miscarriage. It's such beautifully made TV.

Grandad does that to me too, I keep meaning to show my dad! And obviously baby race gets me every time.

I've never noticed that about The Show! I'll encourage DD to watch it tomorrow so I can check it out.

TreaclePlum · 19/01/2022 14:05

I have a friend with a 3 and 5yo who hadn't watched it.
I'm just like sorry what?!

Anyway she now watches two episodes an eve after the kids have gone to bed with a glass of wine. I have so much respect for this.

I flipping love Bluey! However it has made DD slightly demanding about the standards of my imaginary play, I just can't measure up to Bandit.

TheresALight · 19/01/2022 14:23

Even reading the previous posts about Baby Race made me well up. That episode gets me howling like a baby, such a great reminder that we are doing our best as parents.

TreaclePlum · 19/01/2022 14:34

It was sleepytime that made me stop judging myself for cosleeping!
If anyone hears anything about s3 coming out on disney+ / cbeebies please post here!

It definitely made me feel better about holding my 2yo to sleep on the odd occasion when she's upset at bedtime, just such a beautiful episode. Also my DD has a bunny that she has for sleep who looks just like Bingo's so it really gets to me!

Can't wait for s3, hopefully soon! Also there is a Bluey magazine that I buy faithfully each month, let DD flick through for a day or so and then hide away so she can actually do the activities when she's old enough Grin

Rubytinsleslippers · 19/01/2022 21:41

Looooove Bluey. I cry at it all the time. But laugh too. We say 'we are going to Hammerbarn' too much in this house!!

Junobug · 19/01/2022 21:49

I'd like to be like Calypso. She is so calm with all of the kindy kids running amok. She just hums and knits but has absolute control and so cleverly encourages each of them.
