Weaning 6 month old off night feed

Hi everyone

Looking for some advice!

My 6 month old currently has 5x 8oz bottles a day, which includes 1 night feed. He doesn’t always drink a whole 8oz (for eg he just had 5oz in his morning bottle) but more often than not it’s 8oz. Obviously this means he is drinking near enough 40oz a day, which I think is over the guidelines for formula fed babies? I was thinking about trying to wean him off his night feed, as he went through a stage of sleeping through the night but has now reverted back to needing one feed a night, so unsure whether it’s entirely necessary? For context, he’s a big baby, on the 91st centile and weighs around 21lbs now, so just conscious of over feeding!

We’ve literally only just started weaning so not sure if this might impact this too?

Would really appreciate any advice or words of wisdom! TIA

Give the weaning 4 weeks.... as your baby eats more the milk requirement will stop and hopefully it will be the night time feed 😉
