Following as my friends little boys 3rd birthday is in a few weeks.

Orchard Toy games are brilliant. We have a lot. My son is obsessed with vehicles especially Hot Wheels so he got more of those and a Hot Wheels garage. Paw Patrol toys. Craft stuff (crayons, stickers, paint). Pop up dinosaur book. A Bluetooth microphone.

Toolbench with all the tools/dress up builder stuff. Still loves it nearly 2 years later.

We actually picked up a bosch one today as it was just standing outside my MIL'a neighbours house (they child has outgrown it clearly) with helmet and vest and lots of bosh tools etc.

@Rosebud1302 thank you! My son isn't into board games yet, we have a few orchard ones at home but I actually put them away 2 days ago and will introduce in 3/4 months.

I was thinking about hot wheels and cars, I'll have another look .

Duplo And Dinosaurs

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/01/2022 19:02

We found something on Jaques of London called Dinosaur Carpark. It is basically a slide that small toy cars can go down and some dinosaurs which have no discernible function in relation to the carpark..

It is so pointless but DS loves it!

NotTheGrinchAgain · 16/01/2022 19:15

My DS loves his Wow vehicles. He also loves his toy kitchen and pots and pans. And he adores his Hotwheel garage and cars.

And we got him a big magnetic sketcher from Amazon which he loves, an Aqua drawing mat, and some water-paint books).

Jigsaw are a big hit now too, the simpler ones at least.

We've also got him a little bike as he's got so good on his balance bike I have to sprint to keep up! But that will be one for the spring time.

Mammyloveswine · 16/01/2022 20:06

Ask what they want! Last year my 3 year old asked for "a big giant octopus"... got him a giant octopus teddy and he was over the moon!

Mammyloveswine · 16/01/2022 20:07

This year he wanted "a shark happy napper" and bath bombs

CoodleMoodle · 16/01/2022 20:12

My DS(3.5) is vehicle mad so that's the best bet with him. Vehicles of all kinds but especially Hot Wheels, he has hundreds. He also likes the big monster trucks ones, they're good. For Christmas he got the Ultimate Garage, but he has some of the smaller sets as well.

Other than that, Orchard Toys are a good shout. Also puzzles, books, scooter, doctor set... He has a Vtech Kidizoom camera which he loves and is easy enough for him to use.

I do sometimes find it hard to buy for him because he has an older sister so a lot of toys are still around from her! She's a Lego nut so he's got loads of Duplo to try and keep him away from it. He does love his Duplo.

MiddleAgedKick · 16/01/2022 20:17

Playmobil sets
Kinetic sand (he has the construction set and loves it)
Disney Cars toys, especially the Mack truck and colour change cars

APurpleSquirrel · 16/01/2022 20:34

DS is vehicle mad so lots of Hot wheels, playmobil construction sets, any type of construction toy (diggers etc) but he also loves proper Lego when made into vehicles. He's kind of skipped duplo & now prefers Lego.

Smurf123 · 16/01/2022 21:00

Hot wheels here too both the cars and the monster trucks.. do you know there's an entire hot wheels playlist on Spotify 🙈 we have that joy in the car now.

He got the toxic gorilla slam and the gator car wash for Christmas - one from grandparents and one from us/ Santa but the car wash was second hand I think it's an older set he loves it because the cars colour change

Opalfeet · 16/01/2022 23:04

Do you have a toy kitchen and associated paraphernalia? My three year old spent ages in that. What about a little till etc

Opalfeet · 16/01/2022 23:05

My little one mostly liked playing with playdoh, slime, paint, kinetic sand etc- anything messy.

Crispynoodle · 16/01/2022 23:06

100 per cent play Mobil sets! I got my nearly3 year old a pirate ship one and he loves it!
