Birthday parties for 6 year olds

Do 6 year olds still like bouncy castles? What kind of parties did you have for your 6 year old sons?

6 is like the best age for birthday parties. They love everything. My son had a children's entertainer for his (typical slap stick comedy, cheesy magic tricks and ballon animals) and loved it so much he wants it next year.

He's been to a bouncy castle party, a couple of soft play parties, a park party and a couple of low key parties (like cake and two or three family members or friends) this school year and honestly once you say we're going to a party, chuck a few balloons and a bit of cake at them you'd swear each time he'd been to Glastonbury.

Do what you can afford and feel comfortable with, and ask him what he would like. Whatever you choose he'll think he's been the king of England for the day!
