Nearly 3 year old going to the toilet independently?

Am I crazy to think my nearly 3 year old could potentially start using the toilet independently?

She has been potty trained since 20 months & used the toilet (with seat) for 6 months now.

She is able to pull her trousers & knickers up and down independently, and wipe herself after a wee (still needs help after a poo so she would need to shout me).

Is she too young?
If she were to go alone the only thing she struggles to do is get up and down off the toilet independently, even with a step she isn't quite tall enough. Has anyone found a solution to this?

Gosh, reading this has made me really how delayed we are in toilet training DS. He is 2.5 and has absolutely no understanding that using the potty/toilet is for a wee/poo. He likes to sit on it, but doesn't understand what it's for. I don't think he'll be toilet trained by 3 at this rate 😱

DD is 3 next month and has been able to do this for a while, but does need help with poos obviously, so will shout for me or come waddling through Grin At home or somewhere familiar like my parents she just takes herself off whenever she needs.

Maybe get one of the steps with the built in toilet seat that folds out. That's what my 3yo DS uses and he goes in his own fine just needs help with wiping and flushing as he can reach.

Can you put the toilet roll out off her reach and just leave a wee bit out to do her for when she needs to go.[/quote]
@Babyghirl That's a good idea, thanks. We'll try that.

Mines being going by himself since he potty trained himself, by around 18 months, for a poo I wipe his bum.

He can get his trousers and pants up and down but I admit often ends up coming down with just his top clothing on 🤣

My other son who is 5 nearly 6 still needs reminding "flush the toilet, wash hands"
I didn't supervise him on the toilet every time though from when he potty trained around 2.5-3 years old
