My son had just been confirmed adhd and have to wait 1 year for autisum review has anyone else been in this situation. I'm glad he has got his diagnosis we have been fighting for years for it for him . I feel just a weight lifted off my shoulders that they have acknowledged his needs

So glad he got a diagnosis. How old is he @Conspiracyornotr?

Have you found the SN section yet? There's usually some MNers with experience in there Smile

DS was 6 when he was diagnosed. He had been suspended from school multiple times so we thought long and hard about medication for school days. We decided to try it and it’s been a total game changer. No further suspensions and is top groups for everything. He always thought he was clever, but he was unable to keep his body and his brain still enough to learn! Meds have helps him tremendously.

That should say ‘we’ always thought he was clever!

@raffle my son has been excluded 3 times and is on the verge of getting kicked out . Every other day I have to pick him up from school because something has happened. If you don't mine me asking what medication was he on. Did he also have night time meds ? Thanks for comments guys I have never done a post before x

@Conspiracyornotr Sorry for late reply! He has Medikinet on school days, and a melatonin (circadian) at night time. Both work fantastically for him. Before his night time med I never saw him actually look tired. As in, rubbing eyes, laying in the couch or even just slowing down a bit! But now it’s part of his bedtime routine and he actually looks ready for bed when we take him up. It’s great!
