I have nearly 5 year old and nearly 3 year old, my 4 year old is disabled and non verbal so i am unable to talk to her and she understand, but my nealry 3 year old has become quite little chatter box and its lovely! I was driving to pre school and we were talking about the frost on window and on ground then this went on to weather and the sunny day etc and it really made me realise how much we shape their understanding of the world, as parents. It reminded me of the responsibility of it all! It was lovely moment and i guess its quite an obvious thing maybe because I havent experienced it yet as cant with older daughter, anyways wondered if other parents every think or consider this

Also dont just mean about factual things in life i mean like emotionally as well, so like how we speak to them what topics we choose to talk about as well as obviously answering or talking about what they choose. Ive been opened up to world of language and as exciting it also bit daunting!

I can definitely relate to this! When my Dd repeats phrases I say to her to other people it makes me so aware of what I am saying to her! Its lovely to teach them all about seasons and art and nature etc all the things they are interested in when preschoolers!
