My 3.5 year old was alessandria great at laying back and having his hair washed until around 6 months ago. We recently started swimming lessons in a private pool and we are having the same issue. At the thought of getting his face/ears wet he screams, sobs and pretends to sleep. I have tried a swimming cap and goggles but he won't wear them. I have tried a shampoo halo and that's the same. I have tried water fights, getting in the bath with him and wearing all the other things. I allow him to pour water over my head in the pool and put head under water. I have tried stickers to encourage.
Does anyone have any tips to help us get over this? He needs his hair washed more regularly without a breakdown and his swimming is being stalled as he just shuts down if the teacher gently suggests he try getting his head or ears wet.
