My baby is 6 1/2 months old, I’ve been giving him tastes of different fruit and veg, (df) yoghurt and custard at lunch. What do you feed your baby at this age and when do i up it to two meals a day. The hv just said go with what you think but it’s new to me and I’m not sure if I’m doing it right.

There's a great weaning section under "Feed the World" @Babyontheway21. Have a look there. There's also some good Weaning recipes on MN and you might find this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust useful as well as it covers first tastes, finger foods, portion sizes and has some handy sample menus Smile

I would add a second meal at around 7 months and look to introduce foods such as porridge and toast. I'd also be looking to add egg and introduce meat/fish at this stage.

I don't really remember much about mine at that age, but yes to the mashed veg! I know exactly what you mean about needing a manual, it is daunting. I suppose when one meal plus milk isn't enough for them and they show signs of wanting more solids.

Its so daunting and It’s the anxiety of him choking 🙈. I just don’t know what the right thing is, but these links do help. I’ll need to get more creative with his food. I’ve puréed a lot of it, I have offered mashed as well he just seems to take more to the smoother texture but I’ll definitely offer more mashed and start to introduce meats and fish.

Don't worry about choking. Have a look on YouTube as some videos I what to do if they do choke and remember, there's a big difference between choking and gagging. Just stay calm and have some fun and don't forget to take lots of photos Smile
