What were your 5 year olds favourite presents?

My twin girls turn 5 in March and I'm struggling to come up with any good gift ideas. They got bikes last year.

Playmobil
Boardgames
Books
Arts and crafts

What kinds of things do they like doing?

They're very in to arts and crafts, and also anything role play related. We have quite a selection of costumes although some are probably starting to get small so that's a possibility.

I guess I was looking for something to be the 'main' present

Do they like Lego? The Lego dots series are good for arts.

My almost 5 year old favourite Christmas prezzies were:

Arts & Crafts - lots of new pens & colouring/drawing stuff .. in particular those books you scratch to reveal colour. She’s spent hours doing those over Christmas.

A jewellery box with some kiddie jewellery & also a jewellery making kit.

Polly Pocket - she loves it.

Small Lego sets - nothing major yet, she finds Lego quite hard but she loves playing with in once built. There are some ‘girly’ sets if that’d catch their interests more.

Board games - she loves them!

I don't think they need a main prezzie really. We didn’t do anything ‘main’ for Christmas, just lots of bits. There’s only so many big presents you can get 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe do their ‘main’ gift as a day out somewhere? A theme park? Water park? Something bigger than usual!

Scooters? It's nice to have an option of scooter and bike especially with summer coming up

DD is 5 end of March and we are planning on getting her a trampoline x

Mummyof287 · 12/01/2022 10:49

For Xmas her favourite bigger presents were a 'happy napper' sleeping bag and a princess play tent :)

If they like arts and crafts then paint sticks are excellent

My almost 5 year old loves her Tonie box (reads stories) she got for Xmas, it’s her birthday in a few weeks and she has asked for lots of extra characters for it.
