Should I move 14 month old into a bed?

Hi everyone

I don’t know if this is common but during the night my son gets on his hands and knees and bangs his head against the side of the cot, I don’t think he’s fully awake while doing this but usually he does it on and off for about 20 mins then settles himself back down to sleep. The banging is so loud can hear it throughout the house, although it doesn’t seem to be bothering him I am obviously worried about him hurting himself.
He doesn’t seem to dislike his cot but this is making me consider moving him into a toddler bed sooner rather then later.

Just to add another point I am expecting twins in June so have been considering moving him into a bed before the twins come so he is settled.

Any advice would be great or if anyone has been through anything similar.

Thank you!

DD2 has never been in a cot. You can put him on a mattress on the floor but bed guards aren’t safe until 18 months.

I'd put him in q floorbed. Room needs to be completely baby proof and the mattress should be at least a metre from the wall on all sides with no bed guard
