Travel advice with baby/ formula fed anti reflux

Hi,

We’re hoping to head out to Tenerife next month for a much needed holiday. DS is 7 months (5.5 corrected) and is FF with aptamil anti reflux milk. This only comes in powdered format rather than ready made bottles.

Does anyone have experience/ advice as to what water we will be able to use to make this up while overseas? I’ve read that Evian and Font Vella is low sodium/ minerals so may be ok to use - can you use this in a perfect prep and/ or boil to cool to make a bottle up?

Thinking about trying him with regular formula to see if he will tolerate it but was such a shitshow prior to the anti reflux milk I’m not sure I’m courageous enough to do this!!

Any advice greatly received thanks.

Not exactly the same but we are from Scotland and went to a caravan in England and we used Evian bottled water in the perfect prep with his anti reflux milk. I wouldn't change the milk tbh, lots of other things will be changing for him x

Thanks @Mrsmch123 really appreciate your response and good to hear Evian was fine with the perfect prep. Agree on not changing the milk - it’s been a game changer so far. Thanks x

I am in the same predicament. I was considering using the ready made normal ones but adding some carobel thickener. But I haven’t tried this out yet. I did try him back on normal (he’s 5minths now) and it was awful!!
we use y cut Bari flow dr browns teats but May drop down a level to 4 and see if slowing him down feeding helps, but it was all getting clogged with level 3’s!

also for sterilising I have some microwave pouches but in case there’s no microwave I have bought the sterilising tablets

Hi there just wondering how you got on with your little one on hols, I’m bringing my little girl next week to Tenerife she’s nearly 5 months & on the same formula. Thanks so much hope you had a great holiday!

Mrsmch123 · 09/10/2022 10:36

@SarahKav we took our little one to Spain and we used bottled water. I can't remember the name but it had a babies bottle on the side indicating it was ok for babies.

Thank you! 😊

@SarahKav i used Evian and the anti reflux formula plus perfect prep machine and it worked out well!

for the flight, I took some formula measured out plus some cooled boiled water then asked the cabin crew for a shot of boiling water for the bottle - mimicked the perfect prep basically and that was ok too. You can take as much cooled boiled water / formula as you need onto the flight. Have a great time!
