Weaning allergy experiences

Hi everyone, looking for some advice. I am a serious hypochondriac so I can’t assess this situation with a clear head.

I am quite obsessively anxious about my baby having food allergies. I’ve only introduced egg and peanut so far but I watch her cheeks all day like a hawk when she’s had them, fingers crossed no signs of rashes.

However, over the last week or so (I’d probably say since Monday 2nd Jan), baby has been very unhappy. Making lots of grunting/ straining noises and very whingey/ winey/ moany all day long. She’s also been spitting up after most feeds and been quite sneezy in the last week too (when she isn’t usually). The symptoms are so vague I can’t pinpoint them to the days she’s had eggs or peanut but when I think about it she’s definitely been the unhappiest/ gruntiest on the days after I gave her egg each time. I don’t think the allergy is to peanut as I gave her that for the first time on Thursday but her symptoms started before that. I gave her egg for the first time on the 29th Dec. She’s been quite windy throughout weaning but her poos have been normal.

Could this be an egg allergy? I’ve done lots of googling and everyone that talks about egg allergy seems to have experienced it with hives.

Or is it a coincidence? Perhaps her digestive system is just getting used to new things? Or she’s just in a ‘leap’/ fussy phase or teething. She’s not a very content baby at all so this isn’t massively out of character except usually when she’s unhappy she is crying not making grunting/ Whiney noises.

Any advice/ experience?

Also to add she is a a reflux baby so I wonder whether it could be that her dosage of Losec needs to be increased as she is on the maximum dose for her weight that was last taken in august and she is now 2kg heavier.

I’m not gonna say yes or no to allergy but want to share my experience. My DD had awful reflux and when I introduced egg, she projectile vomited all her milk feeds for 2 days afterwards. I thought it was the egg. I stopped giving egg and then tried again a week later, same thing happened so left it another couple of weeks (probably a month actually) and tried again and she was fine. I’m not entirely sure but weaning really flared her reflux up and it was 10 times worse whilst teething.

Thanks @Vicky1989x sorry your LO went through that. I have wondered whether weaning generally might’ve caused her reflux to flare up but can’t find any info about that online!
