Sit on non-buggy for 2 1/2 year old

My youngest is 2 1/2 and enjoys walking but cannot just walk for long distances. If I use a pushchair it can lead to a danger nap (daytime nap dropped so daytime means a longer bedtime complete with battle).

So can anyone recommend something that he could sit on when tired and ideally isn't too much of a faff to fold or carry when he is walking. A scooter or trike or Scuttlebug or anything else?

What works for you for days out, heading to shops, etc.

Did mean to say non-pushchair.

Scuttle bug would be my choice, it would be the easiest to fold and least cumbersome/lightest to carry.

We have a Globber scooter, it has a handle you can use to help push them along or they can do it themselves. It also converts to a proper scooter when older. My 1.5 and 3.5 year old both use this
