Is this how it is or am I right to be concerned about son's immune system?

So Im a FTM to a nearly 1 year old son so I'm willing to accept I'm just completely new at this and this is just how it is with a young child but I'm getting concerned at how often my son is getting ill Sad

When I say it's been constantly one thing after another I am not exaggerating. He's supposed to have been in nursery since October and he's barely been in due to one illness or another, I'm really lucky that my family have been able to help quite a lot otherwise I'd barely have been able to go to work since then. He was off practically the whole of the month in December.

Illnesses seem to not be mild with him either. He's had 3 hospital stays so far, one via ambulance. Twice for bronchiolitis and once for an unknown virus which he was so unwell with and is only just getting over now (caught it at start of December). Other times in between that have been things like roseola where he got a rash all over him, back, tummy, face, it was horrible.

He's now started with a vomitting bug too.

It feels utterly relentless and I feel like he's not been fully well since I can't even remember when and he's not even 12 months old.

Would it be daft for me to approach the GP and ask if there could be something more at play here? None of my other friends with babies the same age seem to be so ill all the time. I appreciate they get all sorts a lot but it just seems whenever he gets something it ends up being really bad not just a standard cold.

I'd say that well withing the range of normal and expected.
It relentless though and difficult for you.

All 4 of mine were poorly like this when they were little 😔 1 had 9x antibiotics in 6 months! great big boys with healthy diet & lifestyle but had everything badly & hospital episodes! It's exhausting & worrying, I really sympathise but mine did grow out of it! I Over 7 they haven't really had anything & hopefully have a high immunity now due to all the previous episodes!

We are going through the same thing atm. It feels like it shouldn't be happening but in reality it happens to every baby at least for the first 6 months of nursery

First 6 months of nursery is brutal honestly. My DD was off constantly and even at 20 month (been there 8 month now) she's still off pretty regularly.
Don't think all the social distancing helped when they were babies they've barely been exposed to any germs.
