Should I pump at night?

Hiya!

FTM here! My son is 14 weeks and for the past few nights has been sleeping for a decent amount of time during the night. I'm sure it's just a phase, but this week he has been sleeping around 8 till 6 or 9 till 7. Daytime naps are a bit of a nightmare, but will take that for nights like this! Smile

He is breastfed, and I just wondered if I should pump in the night to keep up supply? I have recently started to do a small pump in the morning as I want to build up a supply for when I want to go out without him (hoping to go out for a meal at the end of the month for my birthday). But was thinking of stopping the morning pump and pumping at maybe 11pm - midnight instead? Would that help ensure there is plenty of milk in the morning when he wakes up and would it help there be plenty of milk for when he inevitably starts waking up in the night again?

Don't want to over complicate it, just looking for some advise please Flowers

As long as he is well and following his centile line there is no need to pump.

I’m 2 year and half old doesn’t sleep that well! Enjoy it.

I wouldn’t bother pumping and would be asleep instead. If he starts waking up in the night again it won’t take more than a day or two for your body to catch on.

From a stash perspective you’ll probably get more in the morning than at 11pm (although no harm in trying just to check)
