Milk transition

Hello!

First time Mum of an almost 1 year old and just looking for some tips/advice on how to transition baby from formula to cows milk?
He is on anti reflux milk currently - never tried switching him because I didn't want to risk making him poorly again after a fight to get him settled. He has 4 bottles a day, haven't been able to drop to 3 as he is BLW because of not taking to purees and is picky eater 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just wondering when to start introducing cows milk, whether I should switch to follow on milk etc.. I was thinking of trying the next stage normal formula for morning and bedtime bottles and introducing two cups/beakers of cows milk in the day?

Any info welcomed - TIA

Could you drop the first bottle and go straight to breakfast with a cup of milk? I wouldn't worry if he doesn't drink the milk as he's getting more than enough in his other 3 bottles. Leave it a couple of weeks and drop another bottle. He only needs 10floz (300ml) a day Smile

He has his first bottle at like 4 or 5am and then goes straight back to sleep until 8am so prefer not to drop that one or will be very early starts to the day

@PollyOaks I'm in same position. I was told mix formula and cow together. Mostly formula. Then every few days more cow less formula etc.

She also wakes at 4ish in the morning (on a good night) and has a bottle. I dropped the breakfast bottle as she has porridge most mornings made with cow milk.

Lunch time she isn't that interested in milk which helps..I put like 60ml simply cow in a sipee cup and offer it. She isn't that interested but drinks some!

In that case I'd do the same as Treacle Smile

We’ve just gone through this, just be careful mixing milk with the formula (anti reflux here too) as it gave our little one an upset tummy.

We ended up just doing a straight swap when we realised and he’s been more settled since just having milk on its own. Felt awful but thankfully it was soon spotted and sorted.
