Anxiety being alone with baby

I'm a first time mum and me and my fiancé live together with baby but he's due to go back to work and I'm going to be on my own with the baby 9-5 and I love my baby boy to bits and obviously do what a mummy should do with him but I'm absolutely petrified of the thought of my fiancé going back to work. I'm the type of person that really hates their own company. My baby is nearly 4 weeks old. How can I stop all of this anxiousness? I know we'll be fine but I'm just really nervous with him being so young and not sleeping the greatest.

I was the same, DH left at 7am back at 7pm and traveled abroad for two nights his first week back after 2 weeks paternity! I was terrified!

It was fine, honestly, it was absolutely fine. The first week I asked my mum to take the week off and she came over every day for a few hours which helped so much with my anxiety knowing she was coming. For the next week I planned a few manageable outings which helped and then started doing a mix of that and seeing NCT friends for coffee etc and before I knew it I wasn’t anxious anymore.

I remember the first morning my DH went back to work two weeks after our first baby was born - I was stood sobbing at the front door as he left!! It was totally fine, just try to get out for walks etc

Try and break the day up with walks, join some local groups etc. I found this really beneficial when being on my own all day. You will find you will get into a routine in no time.

Also get dressed, showered etc. before your husband goes to work so that you are free to do what you like that day without stressing about baby to get ready...now I've said this, it is also totally acceptable to wear PJs all day!

You've got this!!
