Introducing a sleep aid to 8 month old

Dear mums,

I am looking to introduce a sleep aid to my 8 month old ( ewan the sheep or my hummy) but I am concerned it might be a little bit late.

Has anyone introduced one at this age and it worked?

I introduced my 9 month old too Ollie the owl in a fit of sleep regression desperation. Did absolutely nothing unfortunately and, once she figured out how to change the tunes, she regularly woke us up by pressing the buttons and madly cycling through the songs at 3am.
