My 3 week old ds was born by section. He was always quite ‘nasaly’ often after a bottle he sounds like something i can only describe as darf Vader he’s croaky as of milk isn’t going down properly. He quite often has spit in mouth and his nose is full of white substance and he sounds very nasaly and noisy when breathing. When he’s falling asleep his breathing increases and he’s very loud and breaths very fast. He makes a high pitch sound often and sounds as though he’s trying to clear throat with it being Xmas abs new year I’ve only seen HV once and they just say mucus will pass they don’t seem to think acid reflux? Anyone think it is that??

Is he distressed after feeds? Generally unsettled? Showing signs of pain? Wriggling and severely arching back? Gaining weight? Generally well?
Babies are generally loud breathers and it changes when they drift off to sleep but if you remain concerned then go back to HV or GP for review.

Section babies can be quite mucusy, apparently something to do with not travelling down the north canal and being able to clear lungs? It could be this?

Any other symptoms? Nappy rash, frequent pooing, uncomfortable? My little girl was like that and has CMPA.

He does arch his back, he looks for milk quite frequently he is generally well I’ve just noticed a lot of spit in mouth and sometimes in morning his Moses basket sheet is stained where he’s obviously been drooling at night he’s a bright little thing but I do notice white stuff up his nose and wonder if it is mucus

The white stuff is most likely spit up, this can come from the nose too. You can try saline drops for the stuffy nose which can help.
