I'm at my wits end with my sons reflux. we are back in hospital again due to him turning blue over it.
he is an ex 27 weeker and is doing good on the whole. but I just dont know what to do for the best here. he can normally cope okay with it - I say okay because he doesnt sleep very well and is very squirmy/deposity. however, if he gets a cold like now, coupled with his severe reflux it causes him to hold his breath and he colour changes.
we have tried omeprazole and gaviscon but it's not working.
I breastfeed - I really dont want to give it up because as a preemie he benefits so much from the antibodies but equally would a specifically prescribed formula that is thick be better? I just dont know what to do. doctors have been crap.
any advice/anything that helped you? I cant keep watching my child go dusky.
