Hi
My DD is 3 years old and for past 2 weeks she been saying that her tummy is sore. This haven't been everyday but I'd say every other day and I just putting it down to gas or needing to the toilet but now I'm really starting to worrying about it. I do believe her as days she when I ask about it and she isn't sore she would say tummy all better. She isn't in agony where she is lying about screaming and she still carrys on with daily life but don't think it's right that she always having an achy belly

Please don't hate. Parenting and life is hard enough without haters and trolls

Is she pooing regularly ?
Does she eat plenty of fruit and veg ?
Is it always after she s eaten a certain food ?
Is it always at the same time of day ?
Does it ever wake her in the night ?

mummybear2918 · 01/01/2022 08:23

She poops every other day which has always been normal for.
Yes she absolutely obsessed with fruit and she only like carrots peas and sweetcorn
No not after certain food
It has done a few times but i get her back over after about 15 min (she never been a good sleeper)
No different times

Constipation - pooing every fay is ideal, have a look on the Eric website
Worms? - very common in this age and caused night waking
Eating or drinking too fast?
Is she drinking enough?
Stress/anxious?

Has she had a cold or respiratory illness at all recently? If so could be mesenteric-adenitis.

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 08:44

I always think of abdominal migraine in kids.
If it’s still happening after Monday I think I’d be ringing the GP for advice/reassurance.

mummybear2918 · 01/01/2022 08:48

Just she over a sore throat and bad cough she had since Monday.
You know children can be rascals and pretend but I don't think she is now cause she can get upset when she tells me tummy is sore. Just worried cause you hear some sad stories starting from tummy aches like the big C and I'm so anxious

My son had this as a three year old. It accompanied a viral illness and the dr was confident it was enlarged lymph nodes in abdomen (like you would get in neck/round throat with a cold etc). Nothing serious, but always good to get checked out

GoodnightGrandma · 01/01/2022 08:52

Has it only been since she’s had the cough ?
She could have pulled a muscle when coughing.
Have you given any painkillers for it, and if so, did they work ?

mummybear2918 · 01/01/2022 09:02

It started well before she become unwell
Thank you for all your replies really appreciate it. Think will go to doctors on Tuesday when they re open

Hi @mummybear2918 I know this is an old thread now but wondering how you’re little one got on? Mine has had a sore tummy for a week, but seems to be worse at nighy time. She did seem to have a bit of a bug over the weekend, but everything bar the sore tummy is gone.
