How often should toddler poop?

My little girl is 15 months. On average she poops 5 times a day! Today she’s just woke from her sleep and pooped for the 7th time! She’s never woke through the night for a poop since she was about 4months old!

I just don’t know if this is normal or not? She eats a healthy balanced diet and she does eat a lot of fruit and veg. She has about 8oz of milk a day and the rest she drinks is water, no fruit juice etc. She has toddler milk instead of cows milk as cows milk tends to give her a really bad nappy rash but I don’t think she has a dairy intolerance as she eats cheese, yoghurts etc and no nappy rash with that.

It’s normal poop and not diarrhoea or anything and she doesn’t seem to be in any pain at all but I feel like I’m going through a nappy every hour she’s awake!

She’s also really good at telling me ‘poo’ before she does it but i feel she is too young for potty training yet.

Anyone else’s little ones go this often or do you think I should bring it up with the health visitor/GP?

Hmmm seems quite a lot, is she constipated as in doing one small harder poo every so often?

How is her height to weight ?

If it's all normal them potty training tends to reduce frequency. The issue with training early is it leaves you a long time that they are very dependent on you doing their clothes. My DD was trained at 20 months, I tried my Ds at 18 months and it was too difficult despite him showing signs. Left it until well over two. It's just a long time until they can go independently so still needs input and for you to watch them or be available to help.

I don't know about frequency but definitely get her pooping in the loo or potty. She's telling you so go with it. My eldest did poos in the loo way before proper potty training for wees.

@ijustdontknowabout thanks for your input :).

She doesn’t seem constipated poops are always the same consistency some are bigger than others but never hard and I definitely don’t think she’s constipated. She’s really funny with being dirty etc can’t have her hands dirty and always needs to be clean so part of me thinks she’s maybe not getting it all out as she hates the feeling as in the morning she goes and then there’s always more about 30mins later.

She on the 99th percentile for weight and height so absolutely no problems there.

I might give the potty a go and see how she goes the only problem is she’s not walking yet. She had hip dysplasia when she was born and has been in casts and braces for most of her life so she’s only been free of that for about 10 weeks. She’s getting there but I think we are a while off so I feel if she could get that first potty training would be a lot easier too x
