Doesn't want to sit up

My nearly 13 month old is still unable to sit up all she does when assisted is flops back down so she face plants the floor or throws herself back. She moves very fast by rolling around the floor and will use her head to manoeuvre herself when she sees something she wants. Should I be worried? The bottom of her spine is very noticeable when she is in the sitting position and can't straighten her back when she is made to stand up. She is being sent for an MRI and brain scan in February but not been told what for other than they have found a skin tag and dimple at the bottom of her back. Any advice would be great.

Is the mri and brain scan for the skin tag and dimple?
Have you spoken to your health visitor about her not being able to sit up? What has she said? That would be first port of call

Health visitor referred her to paediatrician who suggested the mri is for the skin tag and dimple. She was born with Kidney issues so have been told they are doing the mri to see if it's all related but the brain scan is new and no idea what they are looking for?

I would call up to ask for more clarification on what they're looking for and to ask any questions about the sitting up as well. It seems to me like you're a bit in the dark about it all and I don't think it should be like that

I agree I think you need to contact and ask for some more information because otherwise someone on here might attempt to diagnose for you and that might cause you unnecessary distress
