Sleep habits

Hi all xx

Just a question - is letting my 8 week old baby girl nap on me (she won’t nap anywhere else despite us trying everything) going to create bad habits?

It’s a constant struggle with trying to get her to sleep either in her Moses basket or next to me but a lot of times I choose to have her in a sling to make sure she gets any rest and doesn’t get any more overtired than she already did is ☹️

Is she gonna learn only to sleep on us by us allowing her that now? Should we be more strict and she will get to the point when she’s so tired she will eventually sleep wherever we put her?

Any advice woman be appreciated

Does she sleep in the pram or car, or just on you ?
Where does she sleep at night ?

Sometimes she will sleep in her next to me but it’s very hard to get her to settle in there. In the pram it’s a very short nap and we don’t go out much on the car

I think 8 weeks is far too little to try and enforce certain habits that the baby isn't keen on. But later on (from around 4-5 months) babies can be started on a routine and taught to nap in their cot, if that's what you want. It's not something they learn over night though, it does take a bit of time.
