Occasional reflux

I can’t find any posts which sound similar to my baby, I’m sure they’re out there but hopefully some of you can share some advice…

My 6 week old baby seems to have reflux. However, it doesn’t happen all of the time. He can go 3/4 days without being properly sick (he will have small sicks/spit ups every day though) then will have a few days of being properly sick. A couple of weeks ago I rang the gp who said to monitor over the weekend, he was fine over the weekend so we left it.

He was properly sick two days ago, then this morning at 5am and at about 10.30 he was sick all over me 4 times.

He seems very happy in himself other than sometimes being fussy at the breast (often when he needs to be sick or if he’s doing a poo or needs a burp). I’m trialling the koala hold position for bf to see if this helps. He has gained loads of weight, loads of wet/dirty nappies etc. He sleeps really well and only cries if I’ve not responded quickly enough to his cues for milk. I just feel quite anxious about the sick all the time, and feel like I’m stuck in a cycle of him feeding, keeping him upright then him sleeping. Not getting him in his bouncer because he’s asleep by the time I’ve kept him upright long enough.

Just wondering what I should do - would you ring the gp again? Or would you just see how he gets on?

Personally, if your baby is gaining weight, having dirty nappies, sleeping well and is generally happy id do nothing. It’s distressing when they are sick, but they will grow out of it.

Is he upset when he's sick? If not, I'd agree with the PP and not really worry about it Smile
