14 month old scratches and hits all the time

My 14 month old has an awful habit of grabbing and scratching when things aren’t going his way and hits all the time, even if he’s not frustrated. Trying to teach him not to do these things by consistently telling him no and showing concern for the person he’s hit/ stopping him before he’s able to hit. Is there something else I could be doing?
He also throws his toys all the time

Distraction, distraction, distraction op! 14 months is very young, just a baby still. He will grow out of it. Especially if you continue to express mild disapproval. Throwing toys is pretty much age appropriate behaviour too. Everything is just a phase and will pass!

My son is the same age and does this. I mix between saying no or distracting. I say things like I know you're frustrated but we don't throw, let's play with x. If he was to continue doing something I just remove him from the situation physically after asking him say twice not to do something e.g put him in the lounge if he's in the kitchen.

Sometimes I also completely ignore him and give my attention elsewhere as he often stops then too.

I do think a lot of it is just a phase though as he used to bite quite a bit and is doing it less and less.
