Reusable nappy help!

I am 16 weeks pregnant with my second child and really want to know what nappy is best!

I don't want one where I have to learn the art of folding and end up with a swan.

Any suggestions?

You will be overwhelmed with responses!

I favour Tots bots nappies with a motherease wrap due to their excellent absorbancy and containment, but they don't dry quickly.

If you can find Flame's bumfluff advert in the small business ads, she offers free nappy advice.

MrsBadger · 20/12/2007 13:23

depends on your priorities, budget, how you dry, how often you want to wash them etc.

two-part wise it's hard to go wrong with totsbots and an airflow wrap, but I love Bimbles for newborns.

Have you contacted (eg) The Nappy Lady or BumFluff and asked for personalised advice?

basically i wouldn't get all one type cos you can never know what will be best til the baby arrives and even if they are fab you will be disapointed you don't have a lot of choice. trust me - you will become an addict!

also i would advise getting second hand ones. that way you don't have to faf around prewashing them and you can get some really lovely american ones that you can't get new.

id suggest trying various sorts instead of loads of one type!!all babies are different, what suits my ds size, shape, amount of poo/wee! etc might not suit yours!!!do you have a real nappy project or similar in your area?they can be helpful and sometimes lend nappies to try.
i think at first we used mostly terries, some shaped and whatever wraps we could get our hands on!
the nappy lady has good questionairre on what suits you/your lifestyle

I love littlelambs the cotton ones they are cheep www.littlelamb.co.uk and resale value is really good, they come with EVERYTHING you will need but I use the mother ease velcro wraps as my son is a heavy wetter and I dont think their wraps are as good... I got the trial bag from our local council nappy network, which had 40 types of nappy in it.. and these were my favourate... your local council or maternity ward may have the same... They really are easy to use/wash and dry, I cannot rave about them enough! www.usednappies.co.uk is a really safe place to buy good second hand nappies! Sorry to be so long winded, hope it helps
