Hi first time mum here, my baby is 2 months old at the moment and at about 5 weeks we started her in a bed time routine, bath around 7pm then feed and bed. She will usually sleep from about 8pm until 11pm or sometimes 12pm without waking, then she will wake about every 3 hours during the night. She is 10weeks in 3 days and she has suddenly become quite fussy and won’t go to sleep in the evenings.cod she does fall asleep it’s for about 10 mins and then she will cry a lot!! She did have her first immunisations about a week ago could it be that??. Me and my partner are very tired and don’t understand why she has started to be so fussy in the evenings does anyone have any insight or similar situations? I don’t know if we should be doing anything different?

Unfortunately at this age, they change like the wind! It is a phase and your little one will go to sleep normally. The best advice I ever had was to make sure baby is laid in their cot sleepy but awake. Babies expect to wake up as they fell asleep so when they wake even momentarily and they aren’t as they were, they don’t tend to fall back to sleep so easily. Waking every 3 hours is totally natural at this age. I’d recommend one of you go to bed very early, the other puts baby to bed and you swap so you both get a solid 5 hours sleep. I found 5 hours straight made the world of difference.

I didn't have any kind of routine at this age, they change so much! You feel like you get to know their quirks and then it's all up in the air again. Just ride it out, do whatever works for now and then settle back into a more manageable routine when you've got the hang of things again.

My baby had her injections on the 13th and handled it well the day of and the few days after but she has been grouchy this week.
She is 9weeks 3 days.
So maybe it could be linked

8 week growth spurt

Baby sleep isn’t linear. Best thing you can do is reduce your expectations because it’s all a series of phases.

We didn’t get a routine in place till DD was much older. They’re meant to be in the same room as other people for all naps and sleeps till they’re at least 6 months. We kept her downstairs with us till we went up and she slept on one of us and fed when she wanted. Over time she started falling asleep for a longer stretch at the same sort of times so we started more of an official bedtime then.

Give yourselves and your baby a break, she’s barely born and things will change by the day for a long time. That’s okay. It’s what babies do.

Read up on the first trimester too. Your baby should (biologically) still be inside you.

If she was born two weeks early then she’s entering wonder week 8. If she was born two weeks late then she’s entering wonder week 12. If she was born right on time then I don’t know what’s wrong with her.
