So this is my second, and amazingly I had forgotten aaall about the sleepless nights. However, I am sure that by the 4th week my firstborn was sleeping, for a couple of hour stretches in the night.
New baby has done 2 hours once.. Once! Last night they didn't go longer than 30 mins in moses basket and this night they havent gone down once. Every time I put him down he is quiet for 5 minutes, then starts windy noises (can't for the life of me get any blummin wind out) and then scream cries. I feel like i have to race out of bed to get him to comfort him so he doeant wake my toddler. She's great, rarely wakes up but I can't get her our of cot aa i had emergency c section.
Second baby easily pacified eirher wirh a little boob or sometimes just immediately stops cryinf when he. Is picked up.
I am. Exhausted and starting to worry, I usually feel awake enough durinf the night but after. A month of sod all sleep and im now worried about falling asleep while feeding. I also feel the weight. Of him on my c sect on scar. Which is sore after sitting. Up all night holding him

@Cuwins I know! I was caught in a perpetual cycle of him being overtired so was letting him have 3 hour long naps on me to make up for it, but he was still awful at night. Then I read about sleep pressure and how they need to build it up for the long sleeps, so because I was letting him have long sleeps in the day he wouldn't at night. 🙄 so he still has loads of nap time but I only let him have longer naps in the morning now. There's so much info, and it's all so contradictory so there's been a lot of trial and error, but fingers crossed! Only problem is I have insomnia so even though he finally sleeps I don't! 😂😭

Im going to try shorter naps in the day. Anything is worth a try for more sleep! Good luck with the insomnia 👍 I know that feeling!

@Sleeplesschristmas I really hope it helps, or that something does! Every baby is different as they say though, so it may not. Although anything is worth a try! I feel I have exhausted all the options apart from co-sleeping so I'm hoping this will continue to work now. Good luck, and have a great Christmas!

My third was like this. Could sleep soundly if in my arms but couldn’t manage more than ten mins on his own. It did get better eventually but it was a slow process and I remember being so jealous of other mums with similar age babies who could just be put down and would sleep soundly. I think some babies just need the contact, it will improve I promise.
