Idle musing - pork at school

We don't eat pork as a family, and I assumed that we'd have to make sure that DC isn't given it at school.

But her nursery doesn't serve pork at all, and I've just found out that this is the same at the pre-prep she's likely to attend.

No real reason for this other than curiosity, but is this the same across lots of schools, or might it be because of our (diverse) area?

I was curious and did some googling. I thinj Seventh Day Adventists avoid pork, rabbit and shellfish. Didn't know that!

My great grandparents on one side were Quakers and I think they ate very limited meat.

We are in Yorkshire & my DD has sausages & sausage rolls for lunch once a week each. They get ham & cheese paninis offered twice a week too..

The school is 99.9% white though & non religious. There is a choice of 3 hot meals & a panini every day so plenty of choice!
