DS banged side of head

I know these threads have been done before but would just like some reassurance. DS 9 months was standing up holding onto tv cabinet and he’s lost his balance and fell sidewards onto a toy box. He immediately cried for a minute or 2 but he seems ok now (crawling around) He has a big lump on the side of his head near the front and when I’ve touched it he’s cried so it’s obviously hurting him. Do I need to take him anywhere or just keep my eye on him? He’s fallen back on his head a few times but has not ended up with any bumps

I would keep an eye on him and watch out for signs of concussion. Keep checking when he naps. But i wouldnt worry too much tbh, most likely hes fine.

Just check his ears for any fluid leaking out or as pp said other signs of concussion.
Bless him, it's horrible when they do things like this!!

You can go to a&e and get the lump measured. I think if it is >5cm diameter they consider scanning the head to check for bleeding inside - safer to go, even just for reassurance. They can also check him over. Keep an eye out for vomiting, drowsiness and not being himself and any fluid leaking from nose or ears. Seek immediate medical attention if concerned.

This was a regular occurrence for ds when he was younger. He used to have all different coloured bruises / bumps across his forehead / face.

If he’s acting fine, I’m sure he is fine. Just keep an extra eye.
