My baby is one and has no teeth, and no sign of teeth. Should I be worried? What is the normal range for teeth coming in?

My friend has a wee one who doesn't have any at 15 months. The dentist said they will investigate further if she doesn't have any at 18 months.
So nothing to worry about! Just unusual!

That is reassuring, thank you!

Nothing at all to worry about. My 2 didn't have teeth until over 1. Dentist had no concern whatsoever.

Same here. We were told to let dentist/health visitor know if none still at 18 months. They said no teeth at 1 is fine.

My DD also didn’t get her first tooth until 6 days after she turned 1. She had 8 by 17 months.

Ime of my dc had 12 teeth at 1. Another had none!!
A true reflection of how different they can be.
Try not to worry op..

First tooth at 18 months
Not an issue

Capricopia · 11/12/2021 19:49

Thank you so much for the reassurance!

He’s still breastfed so I suppose I should just be grateful I’m not contending with teeth Grin

16 months for DD1s first tooth.
She still has most of her baby teeth at 10.

ScarlettDarling · 11/12/2021 19:52

My dd was 16 months when she got her first tooth. The dentist said she had tough, fibrous gums and they did take ages to come through!

Watto1 · 11/12/2021 19:55

I was worried that DS’s teeth were slow coming through. Then I found my scan photo from when I was pregnant. You can see all of his teeth really clearly in his jaw! Might be worth digging yours out OP?

LightSpeeds · 11/12/2021 19:55

I'm pretty sure that only one of my five babies had a tooth before 1 year old. (I breastfed all of mine too. I don't know if that affects it.)

I've NEVER heard of anyone whose teeth didn't come through... eventually Grin

Workyticket · 11/12/2021 19:56

My ds didn't get a tooth until about 15 months. He was premature whixh the dentist said made a difference

He was late to pose teeth too compared to his peers.

Ilovechocolatecoins · 11/12/2021 20:04

My DS had no teeth until 19 months. The dentist said thats why we have these ranges of teeth development. Those who are born with teeth and those who get them at 19 months.
