Hello, my dd is 3 months old and the last couple of days we’ve switched her to lactose free milk (hv told us too) but the milk is clogging up the teats, they’re number 2 but reall struggling to get the milk out and she’s getting frustrated and crying while drinking, not sure what can I do?! Thanks!

I found that this can happen with the TT bottles anyway.

Next time you’re washing the teats, try forcing some water through with your finger. Do that a few times with each teat. I found that helped

When you make the bottle use the screw lid not the teat to shake it up…then put the teat on. The formula may still be thicker but no lumps stuck in it teat.

Are they like lumps of powder or like coagulated milk? We found that Sma lactose free made the latter, so it wasn't about shaking. DD was a bit older and using a sippy cup shaped teat, which didn't get blocked, but it was annoying. Not sure what brand you're on but if Sma, maybe see if another brand doesn't do this?

Yes! Weve had this struggle for a few months. I use a prep machine and have to put the lid on and shake like mad with the hot water initially. I have to take a spare lid everywhere in case it blocks, always happens at night in the dark 😂

What made you decide your baby needs lactose free? I asked because intolerance is incredible rare in babies and children and needs be diagnosed by a paediatrician but cow milk protein allergy is much more common.
