My dd9 school Christmas fair today on the playground, it was bitterly cold. Barely anything there apart from a few stalls making Christmas dec's. My dd had made a paper bauble in class and was desperate fo show me but someone had already bought it, cue massive meltdown so we came home!! , feel rubbish mum ! and certainly not very Christmassy Sad

That sounds rotten and not very well organised. But you’ll both look back on it when she’s older “Remember that terrible Christmas thing school put on and someone stole your bauble?”
What was the bauble made of, could she do another one at home?

How rubbish, no wonder you don't feel Christmassy Flowers

You need to grab this one by the balls now, though - I'd jolly my dc along with "how amazing that you're only 9 and you've already sold a piece of original artwork" etc, make some decorations at home and get her to hold an exhibition at home, or just bunk off something you don't really want to do and have hot chocolate and crappy Christmas movies. What makes you feel happy at this time of year? Not standing around in a dismal, freezing school playground, for sure - nobody would enjoy that!

Thanks both feel better now, we're home and she's tucking into a selection box with a hot water bottle on her feet!! She's been banging on about this picture for ages of a hot chocolate with a face! She didn't tell me it had been incorporated into a Christmas bauble !! She was so keen for me to see it !!
