Few days ago my partner tested positive for COVID, for the past 2 nights I’ve noticed that my girl can’t breath through her nose properly and she’s all blocked up. I did lateral flow test today and I can see 2 lines (one is a bit faint). I panicked, I’m waiting for gp to call me back but meanwhile I really need some reassurance 🥺 any of your babies had COVID and was totally fine ???

Ah how stressful for you. I know
Several babies who have had covid (one who was only a few weeks) and all are fine. Try not to worry.

LFT isn't recommended for under 11 never mind babies.

Get a PCR

If you suspect she has Covid you do need to take her for a PCR test.

Our baby had it when we both caught it a month or so back. She was 14 weeks and was absolutely fine. Had a high temp for 24 hours and then was a bit grouchy the following day. Was congested for another week or so but otherwise back to her normal self. Most babies are fine so try not to worry. Keep a close eye on her and take her temperature morning and afternoon, or if you're concerned.

Still needs a PCR- I clearly hadn't read most current guidelines but everything I've just looked at says not under 2 and if there are symptoms get a PCR....

Hi everyone, we did do a PCR test today as well (waiting for results) but nowhere says don’t do lateral flow and that’s my point.
