Toddler behaviour and new baby

Looking for some reassurance please. We have a 5 day old DS and a 25 month old DD.

DD is really sweet with the new baby. She helps with nappy changes, tells me he’s hungry when he cries and gives him the gentlest pats on the head.

However, since he has arrived she has been refusing to nap, getting up very early (usually a solid sleeper) and was apparently out of sorts at nursery this morning when she’s normally easy going. She’s wrecked by the end of the day.

This afternoon, when we tried for a nap, after about 20 minutes of not sleeping, she started screaming. I went in and found she had taken her trousers and nappy off and had soiled the sheets. She’s not potty trained, but largely understands the process.

We have been trying as much as possible to maintain her routine, reassure her, make her feel included etc. but the change still seems to have knocked her.

Please tell me this change in behaviour is normal with a new sibling and will pass? We’re all struggling with lack of sleep and now I’m also feeling guilty and worried I’m not doing enough for her.
