Missing first nativity

I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself. 36 weeks pregnant and have caught flipping covid during the week of my DD4s very first (and only) nativity, so I can’t go!

I’m gutted. Her dad will be there so she’s okay about it but I am not! I think it’s just one of those special memories of childhood. They aren’t letting parents take photos either, so I’m just crossing my fingers they might put one on dojo so I can at least have a glimpse of it.

Anyone else feeling the paternity guilt/nativity woe this year? Can’t even taste anything to sit and grumpily eat chocolate for the hour instead!

That should say “parenting” not paternity.

Oh bless you - poor thing! I've got covid too atm and cant taste anything either, its miserable! I'm also a teacher and whilst I cant speak for all teachers, if a parent emailed me and explained the situation and asked if they might be able to take a pic or a video so they could see them in costume, I definitely would. Can whoever's doing drop off and pick up make a little plea to the teacher (or actually, maybe the TA as Reception TAs are usually wonderful)?

@Bootoagoose123 Thank you! I’m sorry you’ve got Covid too. How are you doing with it? I feel like I’ve got away pretty lightly with physical symptoms but it felt inevitable being in school currently.

I actually wrote a little not to the teacher asking if they’d be able to take a photo to send me on Class Dojo so I’m hoping they do - I would absolutely do the same for a parent in my class. I just keep imagining her little face standing up and doing her song and feel so bitter I can’t see it.
Hormones much!? Blush

I'm just wading in to say I have also missed my DS's nativity today. He was poorly as were a few others in his class - vomiting bug. I am absolutely gutted as had been really looking forward to seeing him. He was really sad too, he had been practicing loads and I feel like we have been robbed. Strange how sad it has made me feel so I totally understand where you are coming from.

Have you heard back as to whether you are able to get a photo or video? X
