4 week old eating patterns

My 4 week old son who is formula fed has been drinking a relatively large amount since birth! He currently drinks between 5-6oz every couple of hours. In the first 2 weeks we changed the teet on his bottles to the vari-flow as he was finding the slow teet difficult to suck. The last couple days he’s become restless and doesn’t want to be put down and is only drinking 2-3oz before falling asleep. Is the normal?

I would follow his cues, I found appetite changes with growth spurts/illness etc. This video on responsive bottle feeding might be helpful if you feel he is taking a lot, or wanting more after recently feeding you could try a dummy to see if he is sucking for comfort. However, I found they take the amount they need so I wouldn't worry too much.
