Long road trip in car seat

I will be moving down to Texas from ND next month and will have my then 4 month old with me for that 23hr drive. I keep seeing articles where babies shouldn't be in their car seat for more than two hours but I'm not wanting to spend 12 days driving down there....Could I just let her out every 2 hours for about 5 min and then continue driving? I'm a new parent with no one to ask for advice that's been in this situation. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Erm, I wouldn't, to be honest- you'd need to take proper breaks, not five minutes.

I'm presuming you don't have anyone to help you with the actually move? Have you anyone who could make the journey by plane instead?

We did a shorter move (Germany to UK) with a 4 month. The longest bit of drive (to Calais) was stressful. First couple of hours ok. Second she was a bit grumbly. Rest of the way to the coast she cried, despite me being in the back with her.

Its not just the car seat, they have low tolerance for being ignored.

I'd rather not pay $600 for a plane ticket and $600+ to ship my car as well
