Toddler drinking too much milk

My son is 20 months old and has a bottle of milk before bed. He’s recently started asking for a second bottle after finishing the first, but on several occasions after drinking two bottles (200ml each!) of milk he has almost immediately been sick. I think that amount of milk must be too much for his little stomach to take.

The problem is that after his first bottle, he’s often very insistent that he wants more and will start to cry if he doesn’t get it. This is at the point where I’m putting him in his cot for the night, so it’s not ideal. What can I do?

My daughter went through a phase of wanting more before bed but I can't remember what what age exactly. Never gave a second full bottle though. We let her have a bit more a few times but then said no (she had a full tommee tippee - 260ml?). We tried to get her to eat a bit more at tea time.

You could try doing 2 smaller bottles if he won't accept no.

Could you give him a little snack with it? Or just another inch of milk?

Can you try giving him some supper instead, so he’s fuller ?
It’s trying to work out if he’s hungry or if there’s another reason.

Toast, porridge, homemade banana cake, rice pudding…anything yummy and sweet to fill him up x

Thanks everyone. I’ll try a snack before bed and see if that helps!
