Is she going to be awake forever?

DH, DD 4 months, DD 3.5yo and I drove
5 hours today and are now in a travelodge before catching a ferry early tomorrow morning to the Channel Islands. We let DD 3.5yo sleep 3.30-5.30 as she was feeling carsick.

She's. Still. Awake. We're all in a room together and she's singing 5 current buns in the baker's shop. Is this purgatory? Will she now be awake until the end of time?

Grin solidarity OP. DD had a very rare for her nap the other day on the sofa and then pinged awake at 2am and spent two hours chatting and singing me a repertoire of songs from nursery, including multiple renditions of her current favourite, Little Bunny FooFoo.

If it's any consolation, when she did conk out again she slept in for two hours longer than usual!

Hope she passes out soon!

Oh just saw you had an early ferry. Then yes you are doomed and she will now be awake forever. Sorry!

Solidarity here too. I ended up being very stern with DD (5) tonight, at about 9:30. She's playing up because DH is away and she wants to sleep with me (which I'd allow if she would actually go to sleep). I hate being stern about bedtime, but it works because she takes herself off to throw herself dramatically on her bed, sulks and does fake crying with her face in the pillow - and promptly falls asleep!

One of mine did get noisier and noisier falling asleep away from their bed as a pre-schooler. Falling asleep in the car shouting 'Bin lorry, tractor, car, Bin....' was a highlight. Sleep may be near!
